Rodeo Queen
The Miss Rodeo Ak-Sar-Ben Contest is open to young ladies ages 18-24 who reside within Nebraska or Iowa. Selection of the queen is decided by judges and is based on Horsemanship, Personality and Appearance. Lindsey Ahrenholtz, Miss Rodeo Ak-Sar-Ben 2008, will be awarded a $750 scholarship following her reign. The Ak-Sar-Ben Rodeo Queen Committee also pays $300 towards Miss Rodeo Ak-Sar-Benís travel expense and her registration fees for competition in the Miss Rodeo Nebraska or Iowa pageant.

2008 Miss Rodeo Ak-Sar-Ben
Introducing the 2008 Miss Rodeo Ak-Sar-Ben, Lindsey Ahrenholtz. Lindsey is the 20 year old daughter of Alan Ahrenholtz and Laura Shelton, hailing from Woodbine, Iowa. She is currently a Junior at Iowa State University, majoring in Kinesiology and Health: Pre-Physical Therapy, where she is on the Dean's List and has received the Academic Recognition Award. Lindsey is also involved in the Pre-Physical Therapy Club and Rodeo Club as well as volunteering for Cyclone Sports Medicine. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, working outdoors or with colts, and competing in barrel racing.

The Ak-Sar-Ben Rodeo Queen Committee works year round to fundraise dollars to support the scholarships awarded at the annual contest.
