Ak-Sar-Ben Rodeo

History

Celebrating 61 years, the Ak-Sar-Ben Rodeo has had a long-standing tradition for being the largest indoor rodeo in Nebraska. Tracing its roots back to 1947, the rodeo has attracted many of the worldís best rodeo cowboys and entertainers. The impressive list includes such legends as Roy Rogers, the Judds, Gene Autry, Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire and many more.

In 2003 the Ak-Sar-Ben Rodeo became host to the ProRodeo Summer Finale which as brought national exposure to both the rodeo and Ak-Sar-Ben's River City Roundup through national print publications and national television broadcasts.

Six years later Ak-Sar-Ben's River City Roundup still plays host to a major Playoff event as the host to the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour - Omaha Round of the Ariat Playoffs.

Committee

The Ak-Sar-Ben Rodeo Committee is a group of volunteers who coordinate the production of the Omaha Round of the Ariat Playoffs. This group sets up the arena, handles the rodeo production each night and promotes the event throughout the community.
